Stupid Subway $5 Footlong Special

A few months ago, Subway introduced a special $5 price for all their footlong subs (except of course those premium subs that are really just a gimmick anyway). I am here to tell you that upon experience of this offer, it simply is not worth the hassle my friends.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been to some decent subways and the experience has been fine. My local Subway, at the Caltrain station, has been my regular lunch stop at work approximately 3 times per week since this offer began.
I blame this mostly on the staff…

One year in San Francisco

So this past week has been my 52nd week in San Francisco, 1 year as of June 6th. And how do I feel? Well I can’t believe it’s been a year, it doesn’t feel that long at all, but at the same time I know this place so well it’s like I’ve known it for years.
And if I’m being honest I’m quite looking forward to getting home. Quite a few of my friends have left to go back home already, so every day it’s getting harder to find people to do things with…

Brad quits Third Day?

So I was in Borders the other day, mainly to enjoy a magazine with a large hot Cocoa Trio (because I really hate Starbucks’ version, although it turns out Starbucks owns Seattle’s Best Coffee in Borders). I enjoy this past-time because the Cocoa Trio is flippin’ expensive, but at least I can read the entire magazine without paying for it. I see this as a good compromise – expensive beverage, cheap education. Anyway, on with the story.

I come across the new edition of Billboard magazine…

Indiana Jones 4: Review

I went last Friday night to see the new Indy flick, and I was obviously very excited about it. I’d heard good reports from some friends, and had just rewatched the original trilogy to get myself in the mood for the ensuing action. The producers kept very hush hush about the movie, and I only saw the trailer once before going to see it.
So I arrived at the movie theater (or ‘cinema’ as most normal people call it) and obviously didn’t get there on time…

California Coast Roadtrip

I apologise that it’s been two weeks since my last post, I partly blame Wordpress for changing their format which caused me to lose some saved drafts which I couldn’t be bothered typing again until now. Another mention must go to my university, as I’ve spent the last 2 weeks doing my placement report which has taken up a lot of time.
So it’s 6.30am and I’m working from home answering the calls. Usually I do it from my bed but today I can’t sleep so I thought I’d make productive use of my time and write something…

Hottest day of the year

Yesterday, about 4.30 in the afternoon I notice it’s a little hotter than usual. I check Google and this is what it tells me. It’s absolutely roasting. In fact I think it’s a record for San Francisco, it’s usually sunny but never this warm. The good weather is expected to last throughout the weekend.
In other news, this weekend is shaping up to be good. The annual Bay to Breakers Race is taking place is taking place this Sunday, which draws huge amounts of people…

Steve McQueen is gone…

Valerie’s pet, a dwarf hamster named Steve McQueen (after escaping from his cage), died last night. He was about 7 months old so it was kinda sad. Early in the evening I watched him running in his little wheel and he seemed to be fine, but then later at about 11 I checked on him and he was lying on his side with his eyes open and was having obvious problems trying to breathe. He wasn’t moving either, so I’m not sure exactly what caused it. Either way, this morning when we checked on him he was gone.
He was a small little thing, and loved his little wheel…
