On Sunday, San Francisco held it’s annual Folsom Street Fair. Depending on how you look at it, it was maybe a good thing that I was working that day and wasn’t able to go.
The Fair is San Francisco’s third largest festival, and it celebrates all things S&M and leather. It takes place on Folsom Street, between 7th and 12th streets and attracts around 400,000 people every year both as spectators and participants. I work on 5th street so I tour a little detour to work so I could take a quick look at what was going on. Luckily I didn’t see much as the party was just getting started, but there was certainly a lot of people about.
My roommate went out to the festival with his friends. He stayed all of 5 minutes. In fact, most of my friends who went ran away scared!
As is typical at these sorts of festivals, there was loads of naked people and the transgender community was well represented. I actually have a few photographs from the day, taken by my roommate, but I think I’ll spare you. If you’re curious I’m sure Flickr will help you out.
The event was preceded by a ‘lovefest’ at the Civic Center on Saturday. Again, working so I missed it, but it was a big party with lots of music and people. And naked people again. San Franciscans love their nudity!. The party went on until the evening but by the time I got home from work at 10pm I really wasn’t up for doing much so just chilled out at home. Which reminds me, I need to call my building manager and get something sorted. I’m getting evicted on Saturday and don’t want to leave!
Who cares about the Fair!!! What about Valerie?????
Who cares about Valerie, I want a photo of this haircut!
