So after travelling for over 24 hours I finally made it to San Francisco. The boss picked me up at the airport and I got checked into a youth hostel in the city centre. Needless to say I was absolutely shattered.
I got up yesterday and availed of the generous free pancake breakfast, and made four huge pancakes with maple syrup. The hostel was running a free walking tour of the city so I reckoned this would be a good way to get orientated. I met some cool people on the tour, including an Irish couple which was nice.
Saw most of the main sights, including some of these (my photo’s turned out crap so I’ve stolen these):

And of course the Golden Gate Bridge (although I found the East Bay Bridge to be more impressive)
I’ve been looking for a permanent place to stay for the last two day, one place we went to was in the heart of the ghetto and is very poor, but the house is nice and close to the office. Another place was a dump, miles from the office and owned by a crazy Chinese cat lady. Went out for sushi afterwards, which is actually not bad. Had a little boat thing that goes round with all the food. Going to look at another place tomorrow in one of the nicer parts of the city. Hope it works out as I’m feeling a little lonely not knowing anyone out here.
Tonight as a way of getting started with my internship I’m going on one of the company’s tours. The Sex in the City tour to be precise. Nothing to do with the TV show, but a more seedy tour of all the places that have shaped San Francisco’s sexual culture. Should be interesting…
sweet! im kinda a little jealous of you to be honest… lol
I wouldn’t be. San Francisco is practically like Sodom when you go on that sex tour!
