Continued from yesterday

So picking up from where we left off yesterday…well let’s go back a little first.

Remember the weird Chinese guy in Chinatown? I snapped a picture of him just before I left, just so you don’t think I’m making it up, check it out:

Chinese Guy

Weird stuff isn’t it?

But yes, onto the main part of the trip. We went to visit the house of someone famous. Well, kinda famous! She doesn’t actually live there either. I’ll show you the place and see if you recognise it:

Mrs Doubtfire's House

It’s a house that was used in a famous movie…any ideas?

I’ll give you another clue:
Street Name

Yeah, Ok that was probably no help. It’s Mrs. Doubtfire’s house! 2640 Steiner Street, Sally Field says it in the movie! It’s not really that impressive when you see it, but it’s cool to know that’s where they filmed it. Danielle Steele lives around the corner, we mistakenly thought she lived here and rang her doorbell. She wasn’t home anyway.

On the way to our next place we stopped at a little place called Quickly which featured this sign:
Quickly

It’s apparently huge in Asia, but any place that claims to be the “World’s Largest Tapioca Chain Store” surely must be worth checking out! It was ok, but nothing special.

Our last stop of the day was to Alamo Square, where Postcard Row is. This is a row of houses that are among the very few buildings that survived the major earthquakes in 1907 and 19…. I forget which year. They’re very pretty, but pretty pricey I’d imagine given their age.

I went to see an apartment after that, which was nice but won’t work out due to it not being available to next month.

I headed back to the hostel then a few of us went out for ice cream and a trip to some shops. The ice cream was awesome, chocolate fudge brownies and sauce. Soooo good!

Later we went for dinner at a chinese restaurant and Gabriel ordered for us, as he’s from Singapore. No idea what he ordered but it was good, there were frog’s legs in there somewhere which are actually quite tasty, give them a try sometime.

How’s everybody back home getting on?

Yeah I watched Pirates 3 on the plane. I didn’t think it was that impressive. A bit long winded. I did see Knocked Up last night though, which was cool!
